Spinach is Maxine's beloved pet cat. While pets aren't ordinarily allowed in Newfall High, Spinach seems to be the exception for an unknown reason.

Appearance[edit | edit source]

Spinach is a black cat with green eyes, with no other notable and distinguishable features.

Personality[edit | edit source]

Spinach is very loyal to her owner, a feeling that is mutual for Maxine, but she's willing to betray that bond if she believes it to be for the greater good, namely in quests like Gathering Storm. Spinach doesn't seem to mind too much as long as she has a place to sleep and a ball of yarn to play with. She's also good at tracking scents, a skill that has helped MC on a few occasions and dubbed her "Detective Spinach" by Maxine.

Maxine found Spinach in a shoebox outside of the school during her freshman year.
Spinach regularly hisses at Mrs. L, an unusual behavior for the otherwise-sweet cat.

Spinach is the only non-human character who can be flirted with.
